தான்றிக்காய் மருத்துவப் பயன்கள் :- சித்த மருத்துவத்தில் தான்றிக்காய் திரிபலா என்ற மருந்து செய்ய கடுக்காய், நெல்லிக்காயுடன் இதையும் செர்த்து பல நோய்களைக் குணப்படுத்துகிறார்கள். இதன் காய் தொலிலிருந்து தோல் பதனிட உபயோகப்படுத்துகிறார்கள். இதிலிருந்து இங்கு தயார் செய்கிறார்கள். துணீகளுக்கு வண்ணங்கள் தீட்டப் பயன் படுத்துகிறார்கள.

இப்பழம் மூலத்தைக் குணமாக்கும். சளி, வயிற்றுப்போக்கு என்பவற்றைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தும். தான்றிக்காய் பொடியினால் கண் ஒளி பெருகும். தான்றிப் பொடி 3 கிராமுடன் சமன் சர்கரை வெந்நீரில் கலந்து காலை, மாலை சாப்பிட பித்த நோய்கள், வாய் நீர் ஒழுகல் தீர்ந்து கண் பார்வை தெளிவுறும். இதன் காயை நீர் விட்டு இழைத்து புண்களில் பூச ஆறும். அக்கியில் பூச எரிச்சல் தணிந்து குணமாகும். தான்றிக் காய் தோலை வருத்துப் பொடித்து தேனுடனோ சர்கரையுடனோ காலை மற்றும் மாலை சாப்பிட இரத்த மூலம் நிற்கும்.

தான்றிக் காயைச் சுட்டு மேல் தோலை பொடித்து அதன் எடைக்குச் சம மாய் சர்கரை கலந்து தினம் காலையில் வெந்நீருடன் சாப்பிட்டு வர பல்வலி, ஈறு நோய்கள் போன்றவை குணமாகும்.திரிபலா பொடி இரவில் தண்ணீரில் காச்சி ஊரவைத்து காலையில் எலுமிச்சை பழச்சாறு கலந்து கலக்கித் தலையில் தேய்த்துக் குழித்து வர முடி உதிர்வது நிற்கும்.
