மிளகின் உஷ்ணமான வீர்யத்தினால் வாத தோஷத்தையும், காரம், உலர்த்தும் தன்மை மற்றும் ஊடுருவிச் செல்லும் தன்மையால் கபத்தையும் குறைக்கக் கூடியது.
ஜீரண உறுப்புகளில்: காரம், உஷ்ணம், தீக்ஷ்ண குணங்கள் காரணமாக உணவில் சேரும் போது நல்ல பசியைத் தூண்டி, உணவை ஜீரணிக்கச் செய்வதும், ருசியைத் தூண்டுவதும் இதன் முக்கியச் செயலாகிறது. உமிழ்நீரை அதிகம் பெருக்குவதால் சுவை உணர்வு அதிகமாகிறது.
