THESAVARAM

Thesavaram refers to the root of the Long Pepper plant (Piper longum), a perennial climbing shrub native to India and Southeast Asia. Recognized in classical Ayurvedic and Siddha texts, this plant has been cherished for its strong historical significance in both culinary and medicinal traditions. While the fruits of Long Pepper are better known as an ancient spice, the roots—called Thesavaram—hold a special place in traditional knowledge, where they have long been associated with vitality and balance.
